#recruitcamp: Discount for TTRA Members

The Triangle Technical Recruiters Association is pleased to announce a partnership with #recruitcamp.  The first event of its kind is bringing in top experts from around the country to talk recruitment and staffing.

#recruitcamp is un-conference in style, informal, and focused on helping each other get better at recruiting, understand social media and new technologies.  The event delivers big conference content without the big price tag.  This is a great opportunity for networking with professionals like you – committed to putting tactics to your strategy.

The event takes place at the eco-friendly Quintiles world HQ on April 22nd with a pre-event networking reception at Serena on April 21st.

Individual and corporate members of the TTRA (who are already paid members) will receive a special admission price of $25.  That’s a $50 discount off the normal registration fee.  #recruitcamp is already delivering big-conference content with a small price tag and now it’s an even better value for TTRA members.

If you are not a paid member of the TTRA for 2010, purchase a membership on-line and you will be e-mailed the #recruitcamp discount code.  Be sure to attend the TTRA meeting on April 8, where we will have several free passes to #recruitcamp as the door prize!

November 2009 TTRA Meeting: HR Law and Candidate Conversations

Join us for the next Triangle Technical Recruiters Association meeting on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the NCSU University Club.

Please arrive at 11:30 to register and get lunch. The program will start at 11:45 with networking from 12:30 to 1:00.

Topic: HR Law and Candidate Conversations

Presented by: Theresa Sprain, Attorney,
                                 Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice

The November TTRA meeting will focus on what subjects are legal or illegal for recruiters to ask of candidates.  We will also examine what actions can get a recruiter in trouble with a candidate or a client company.

Building upon her experience as a product liability litigator handling multi-party, multi-state lawsuits, Theresa is a member of the Labor and Employment Practice Group, concentrating her practice on litigation.  She is particularly focused on litigation regarding gender, age, race, and disability discrimination and retaliation matters; arbitration of employment contract disputes; and counseling employers on human resources policies and employment law compliance.  She represents a broad spectrum of clients, including manufacturers, hospitals, universities and service companies, ranging in size from local businesses to national corporations.

Theresa holds a B.A., Economics from Willamette University and a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law.  She was admitted to the NC bar in 1997 and is active in the Wake Forest Law Alumni Council and is a Volunteer Advisor at North Carolina State University.
